Barcelona 26th-29th April
The second phase of the European BEST Engineering Competition (EBEC) takes place on a regional level, or as it happens in our case, on a national level. The skills and technical knowledge of the students will be tested and they will be challenged to find the best solutions to real technical problems, in terms of technical viability, management and creativity.
After the competition awards ceremony, there will be a networking session with the participants, the partners and the organisers. The networking session will have drinks and snacks. This networking session will take place Monday morning.
The competition is divided in two categories: Case Study, which poses a problem of technological character in which the viability, profitability, efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed solution will be assessed, and the Team Design, which proposes the design and elaboration of a prototype able to solve a determined task with limited time and materials. With this two modalities the intention is to value respectively the three innate skills than an engineer must possess: technical capacity, financial vision and creative wit.
The solutions proposed by the students are presented before a jury formed by engineers and teachers, and after deliberating, this jury will choose the two winning teams, one for each category.
On each category there will be four teams formed by four students each, one team from each local round and university, these being Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, Universidad Carlos III de Madrid, Universidad de Valladolid and Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya.
In total this competition will host 36 participants which will have the chance to show their skills facing the proposed problems that they will have to solve working as a team.
